Who can attend the summer camp?Summer camp is for those between the ages of 8-15. Participation is in-person only and kids can come from anywhere. (Those from out of state/country will need to provide their own travel and lodging accommodations).
-
Is previous experience required?Participants come from varied music and performance experience backgrounds but should be ready for a full day of active participation. If a 9-5 day seems long for your child’s ability to focus, we recommend waiting until they can handle that type of schedule.
-
How should participants prepare?Participants will receive an email by early June with more detailed participation information along with an online form and release form to be filled out by a given date. As part of the form, a short singing video is required for the team to start to get familiar with the singer’s voice. Participants will come familiar with a small set of songs through materials that will be provided. Participants also have the chance to sign up to sing a solo song prepared in advance of the camp as part of a Talent Showcase Night on Tuesday night.
-
Are there performance opportunities? Those who attend summer camp will participate in a short end-of-week Sharecase performance. Each participant will each be given 2 tickets to the Sharecase of their choice and remaining tickets will be made available for purchase at a small fee.
-
Are scholarships or financial aid available?Talent based-scholarship are not available, but a limited amount of financial aid is available through our financial aid program made possible by generous donors. Email classes@onevoicechildren.com to request more information.
-
Can parents/guardians attend or observe activities?Participation during the day is closed to all non-participants. One Voice Children operates on a closed studio policy for safety/security measures and to best support a productive environment for all participants. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend the end of week Sharecase performance.
-
Who teaches the camp? The directors and vocal instructors of One Voice Children’s Choir will be the instructing leads of the camp. A small team of One Voice Children’s Choir current members and alumni will also be leaders during the week.
-
Is there housing available for the week?Housing is not provided, but hotels are available locally in surrounding areas for the week. Participants are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
